THE GREAT ROUTE TOWARDS A GREAT LIFE

SECTION EIGHT

TO GIVE UP

"Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it."

What do you intuitively know of that could possibly stand in your way of becoming the greatest person in your generation? You will write such things in the space provided and write the time limit for their eradication. It may be three months, six months, one year, three years and so on. Such could be anger, jealousy, gossiping, hatred, smoking, alcoholism, television addiction, and on and on. Your conscience will prove helpful in supplying all the needed details.

This is not to suggest that you become a perfect person. You will discover that discipline in any area of your life will help the development of discipline in other areas. One half of knowing what you want is knowing what you must give up before you get it. And as David Jeremiah once said;

"You have to give up to go up."

Your job is to work harder on yourself than you do on anything else. Perfection, like excellence, is a journey, not a destination. The only project you will ever have is you. Work on this project.

This is the last part of the Section Eight.
